French-English-Japanese interpreter and translator. Specialized in interpretation for Japanese filmmakers since her first work assignment with Akira Kurosawa during the Cannes Film Festival 1980. Catherine Cadou is also known as a French subtitler, subtitling more than 200 Japanese feature movies. In 2005, she directed a self-financed documentary about life in Kiba, Tokyo: Kiba Tokyo Micropole.
