Artist, filmmaker, poet, and stage director. Born in Katowice, Poland, graduated from the Łódź Film School in 1977. He wrote the original screenplay for Basquiat and found Julian Schnabel to direct it. His unique videoart pieces were displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Venice Biennale.
