Synopsis
Pakis (12) lost her father when he went fishing at sea. A mirror he gave her is the only hope for Pakis to meet him again. Performing a Bajo ritual for seeking lost people that uses the mirror and water, she keeps on waiting to see her father’s reflection, but it never appears. As her mother Tayung (32) struggles to reconcile conflicted feelings for her missing husband and a researcher visits their small fishing village.

Born in Jakarta on May 6, 1986. Kamila Andini is the daughter of the internationally acclaimed director, Garin Nugroho. Graduated from Sociology and Media Arts in Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. Started her professional career as a documentary filmmaker and also a TV film/music video director. She is also the creative director and programmer of LA Lights Indie Movie Film Workshop and recently Environment Film Festival in Indonesia. The Mirror Never Lies is her first feature film.
