The 24th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) organized “TIFF ARIGATO Project” to give dreams and hopes through films, believing this will contribute to the restoration and recovery of Japan. As part of this project, donation boxes were placed at the festival venues from March to the final day of the festival. The amount of donations reached JPY1,376,097, and TIFF added the sales of the charity auction and a part of the sales of tickets and novelty goods to make total amount to JPY3,229,336. TIFF donated these contributions to 6 parties; Japanese Red Cross Society, Green Tokyo Fundraising Campaign, Kinoshita Forest, Lawson Green Fund, Cinema Yell Tohoku as support for film screening activities in the stricken area, as well as the Turkish embassy in Japan for the earthquake which occurred in Turkey last October.
