We wish to extend our deepest condolences to those affected by the massive earthquake in eastern Turkey on October 23rd.
The 24th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) will place collection boxes at the venue (Roppongi Hills, Tokyo) to collect contributions from Tuesday, October 25th until the end of the Festival. Donations will be used for humanitarian support as a part of the TIFF ARIGATO Project implementations. TIFF ARIGATO Project was established following the Tohoku Pacific Coast Earthquake that occurred in March in Japan this year, with an aim to contribute to Japan’s recovery from the devastation by providing dreams and hopes through films.
The following Turkish films are currently participating and screened at this year’s TIFF:
“Home” in the Competition Section
(welcoming the director, Mr. Muzaffer Özdemir in Tokyo)
“Our Grand Despair” in the Winds of Asia―Middle East Section
(welcoming the director, Mr. Seyfi Teoman in Tokyo)
With our prayers for safety of the victims and earliest possible recovery from the devastation of natural disaster, we have decided to contribute a part of donations profits made through TIFF ARIGATO Project to Turkey.
